Cleanrooms for MedTech Tour

Unique opportunity to visit cleanrooms under construction and in operation
REGISTRATION IS CLOSE. Please call Annemarie via +31(0)655730737 to hear if you can participate.
High Tech Campus Eindhoven (HTCE) demonstrate how specialised cleanroom environments form an essential link between medical innovation, product development and clinical manufacturing. From smart biomaterials and regenerative medicine to transformative vascular implants and electrospun medical devices, the facilities built by our member Cleanroom Combination Group (CCG) provide the controlled environments required to bring these technologies closer to patients.
During the event, the directors of Smart BioMaterials Consortium (SBMC), Xeltis and VIVOLTA will share their experiences, explain their technologies and products, and provide a closer look at the innovations being developed and manufactured at the High Tech Campus Eindhoven and show their cleanrooms under construction (Vivolta), nearly ready (Xeltis) and in operation (SBMC).

Xeltis develops transformative vascular implants designed to gradually become the patient’s own living and long-lasting tissue. Its proprietary Restorex® supramolecular polymer technology creates a porous scaffold that allows the patient’s cells to infiltrate the implant and form new tissue. Over time, the polymer is resorbed as the patient’s own tissue takes over. ![]()
One of Xeltis’ leading products is aXess™, a vascular access device for patients requiring hemodialysis. Following implantation, the scaffold supports tissue integration and is designed to transform into a living blood vessel. Xeltis is also developing implants for peripheral and coronary artery bypass procedures and pulmonary heart valve replacement.
VIVOLTA is a specialist in medical electrospinning and operates as a fully integrated contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) for electrospun medical products. Its technology produces nano- and microfibres from biocompatible polymers, creating highly porous biomaterial structures that can support tissue integration and regeneration.
VIVOLTA’s proprietary MediSpin™ platform enables automated, scalable production of electrospun medical products with controlled and consistent manufacturing parameters. The technology can be used for a wide range of applications, including cardiovascular devices, wound care, orthopaedics, soft-tissue reconstruction and regenerative medicine. VIVOLTA is also involved in the development of regenerative stents made from bioresorbable nanofibres, designed to support the natural regeneration of blood vessels.
Smart BioMaterials Center (SBMC)
will explain the model used, under which the customer remains responsible for its own production process, while SBMC assumes responsibility for maintaining the cleanrooms in accordance with the agreed-upon quality standards. In addition, the specifications of the cleanrooms will be briefly outlined, along with the applications for which they are suitable. At the end of the introduction, there will be an opportunity to tour the cleanrooms and discuss the possibilities.
